Services to other libraries
Provision of International Standard for Iranian Libraries (ISIL)
ISIL is a unique 10-digit code allotted to each library or information centre in Iran. Aside from facilitating communication between libraries, ISIL has applications in the following areas:
1 - Communication with publishers and dealers at national and international levels;
2 - Facilitating inter-library loan and information exchange at national and international levels;
3 - Facilitating the process of the production of national and international union catalogues;
4 - Facilitating resource sharing among different libraries
The NLI is responsible for registering ISIL in Iran and is authorised to issue international descriptor code for Iranian libraries in accordance with ISO 15511 standard Iranian libraries can use any of the following methods to receive their ISIL:
1- Sending completed application form online;
2- Completing and sending the following application form to the National Library by post, e-mail or fax. Click here:
